<TITLE>18. Par 51-53</TITLE>L-51 How you going to operate this church? I say this decently, reverently, lovingly, and respectively to every man, every woman in every denomination: "We're going up there to find out whether we're to have denominations or not. Are we going to run it on a bunch of creeds? Are we going to run it this a way, or that way? How are we going to do it? Well, let's go up and wait till the conference is over. Jesus has gone up the Father; we'll find out what comes back in a few minutes."
So they waited. "How long you going to wait?"
"Until the conference is over."
"How many days? Two?"
"No, just till it's over: until..."
"Until what?"
"Until the conference is over."
All right. After the conference is over, they was all up there waiting, these hundred and twenty waiting to see what would happen, how they must run the church, what they must do. Should they have a great big log and carry all the names? Or should... What must they do? Now, they're going to have the firstfruits of it.

L-52 And while they were setting together, there came a priest up with the holy eucharist in a box, said, "Lick out your tongue." Doesn't that sound silly?
Here come one with a little salt shaker of water, and said, "We must a..." You know. Nothing like...
Or, here come a Protestant preacher down the road. Dr. So-and-so said, "Give me the right hand of fellowship, and we put your name on the book." Wouldn't that--wouldn't that sound like Pentecost? That's the way we try to make it. What is it? Don't you get angry with me. See? It's still fig leaves. Absolutely, it's fig leaves.
They were waiting in that conference to see what would happen to the church, and said, "There came all of a sudden a sound from heaven like a rushing mighty wind (The returns was coming back.); and it filled all the house where they were setting; cloven tongues set upon them like fire. They were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and begin to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

L-53 There was dwelling in Jerusalem, Jews, devout men out of every nation under heaven. When this was noised abroad, they came together and were confounded; because they heard every man speaking in his own language where he was born.
Others were--were mocking, making fun, said, "These are full of new wine."
Watch the chief spokesman now, after he have the returns from the conference. Said, "You men of Judaea and you that dwell in Jerusalem, let this be know unto you and hearken to my words. These are not drunk as you suppose, seeing it's just the third hour of the day. (The saloons are not open yet. Yes, sir.) This is the third hour of the day. But this is that which is spoke of by the prophet Joel: 'And it shall come to pass in the last day,' saith God. 'I'll pour out My Spirit upon all flesh.'" That's the way the Church is to be run.
